Psyche Verge is a first-person platform puzzle game. In this game, you play as a robot awakening in a deserted space station. Explore various rooms and cabins, learn the rules and physical laws of this environment, and uncover the story and setting behind your mysterious surroundings.

The game currently has 6 levels. New levels will be coming soon.

I created this game to hone my game development skills in the Unreal Engine, focusing on 3D modeling, texture creation, and lighting. Additionally, I aimed to enhance my proficiency in level design, puzzle design, interactive learning experience design, and environmental storytelling.

Some techniques employed in the game's development include:

  • Object-Oriented Programming: Developed one major class and three different subclasses to manage the interaction with the core resources - crystals.

  • Gameplay Programming in Blueprint: Implemented the entire gameplay logic.

  • 3D Modeling and Texture Design: I crafted all the 3D models in the game. While some textures were sourced online, I customized many and created several from scratch in Unreal engine.

  • Level Design: Constructed all the levels, which involved placing assets, adjusting lighting, managing post-processing, setting up cameras, and implementing visual effects.

  • Game Design: This encompassed level design within the broader scope of game design, along with puzzle design."

In 2068 AD, humans finally deciphered the code of the brain, succeeded in describing the patterns and mechanisms of human consciousness. Subsequently, the mechanisms of brain functioning were successfully simulated by means of digital technology, making it possible to upload human consciousness to machines. This marked the beginning of the Great Uploading Era ....

Part of humans chose to upload their mind and become cyborgs, who were able to gain new vision by entering the electronic realm. The cyborgs greatly expanded the range of activities that humans could carry out, extending the main area of human activity from the orbit of Mars to 2-3 astronomical units outside the Kuiper belt. Then, human gradually moved the scope of life from the Earth to space stations within the solar system.

During the transfer to the space station, a mysterious crystal substance has been discovered. Its origin and purpose, is still a total mystery....
